I was so sorry to hear of George's passing. I wish I'd have read this obit earlier so I'd known of the service plans. I would have been there to support and offer condolences to my friend, Katy. However I didn't read the obit until today after the service was over. Anyway, Katy and family, please know that i continually pray for you during this difficult time of grieving, and you are in my thoughts partculatly this day as you lay George to rest. If you ever need to talk, please reach out to me. I love you, my dear friend.

Remember seeing George working in the yard , entertaining son or later grandchildren or working garage when I walked in our neighborhood. Always so great with the kids and always smiling. Sending a hug Katy. Your old neighbor, Nell kretzschmar

Katy, we are so sorry to read of George's death. I, Pat, worked part-time in the ticket office in the early 90's. George was always patient with the seasonal staff, and at times I'm sure some of us tried his patience. I don't remember him ever showing that he was upset. I'm sure he will be missed by his family and friends. What a gentle and mild-mannered man George was.
With sympathy,

My prayers to all of you. I worked at the Athletic Ticket Office from 1978 to 1988. George was one of the nicest bosses that I ever had & he was the same way with everyone he came in contact with. I am glad to have known him & his family. I am so sorry for your loss.
