George Reichler Obituary
George Robert Reichler, 58, of Lafayette, passed away at 7:46 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born February 10, 1955 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of Jane (Rubin) Reichler of Louisville, KY and the late George Reinhart Reichler. George was raised from infancy in Germany where he graduated from Stuttgart High School and attended the University of Maryland in Munich. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Political Science from the University of Louisville and earned his MBA from the University of Kentucky. George played tuba in the band in both Stuttgart and at the University of Louisville.
George married Sara E. Cashon on May 12, 1984 in Louisville, KY. They resided briefly in Indianapolis and have resided in Lafayette for the past 25 years. He was in computer sales for 25 years. He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church in West Lafayette. He was a member of Chai Tae Kwon Do, where he earned a second-degree black belt, and a former member of the Wildcat Kiwanis. He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, camping and hiking, and enjoyed debating politics. George was a devoted father to his two sons.
Surviving with his wife and mother are his twin sons, George Aaron and Robert Andrew Reichler at home, two sisters, Mary Reichler of Atlanta, GA and Debbie Reichler of Cincinnati, OH, and a cousin, Tom Ware of Greenville, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Meridian St., West Lafayette, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Natalie's Second Chance Shelter. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care. I do remember George and cherish the time our families spent together in Louisville. He was a the most compassionate and decent and polite person. Rest In Peace my friend. I will always remember you and our times together.

I am so very sorry to hear of George's passing. I knew him and his father in Germany, and had more recently reconnected with him on Facebook. His sense of humor will be one of the many things that will be missed. May God bless him and his family in this time of sorrow.
