James Field Obituary

James E. Field, Sr.

James Eugene Field Sr., 87, passed away at his home on Friday, December 12, 2014 among family and friends. He was born on February 20, 1927 in Circleville, Indiana to the late Owen Marshall and Thyrsa Jennie (Hillis) Field.

He married Mary Louise Pechin.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. After moving from Indiana he married Roxann Phyliss Lee. After his retirement in Lafayette, he volunteered at the Family Resourse Community Center and received the Volunteer of the Year award.

Preceding him in death was Mary Louise and their daughter Mary Katherine Kelly Field. Also preceding him in death was his wife Roxann Field.

Surviving are his children Jennie Hack (husband John), James Field, Michele Brown (husband Bill), Tamara Linares (husband Virgilio) and Michael Field.

Jim had 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Boniface church on December 29th at 10:00am.

May the peace of the Lord be with your family. I was a friend of Roxann's and really liked Jim so well. Went out to Durango, CO to see them when they lived out there and had such fun with the both of them. We believe we WILL see our friends and family again at another time....in another place called Heaven. God bless... +
