The man known as Jeffery Karstens will be sorrofully missed. The ANGEL of the same name will never be forgotten. I hope that I will be able to embrace his being & pay forward his essence & love. Albeit too short, the sharing of himself with my daughter, I am soo appreciative of his life & being. I have NO doubt that a man of his caliber will be there, watching over us all. Till we meet again. Thank you & thank all whom had a hand in creating such a man. Not good-bye, butt see you later. Love your other DAD!

I had the pleasure of sitting near Jeff (usually in the seat in front of him) for many years on the long school bus ride to and from school. You really get to know someone that way and I will always have fond memories growing up with Jeff as a friend and neighbor. My condolences during this very tough time.

My heart breaks for the whole Karstens Family. Jeff was such a vital person who impacted my kids as a Young Life leader and later as a personal friend to Matt. Love and peace to you all... ❤

I had the pleasure of being Jeff's 6th grade social studies teacher at East Tipp. Jeff was highly respected by his fellow students and teachers.

Leah & Family, words cannot express the sorrow we're all feeling. I did not know Jeff "in real life", but from an online game we've played together for the last year. Jeff was one of our leaders and most active members. We only just learned about Jeff's passing tonight after investigating his absence over the last week. Over the last year, we have had the absolute joy to play with and get to know Jeff. Many of us spoke with him every single day. It did not take long to learn that he was truly something special. His fun loving and genuinely caring nature, kindness, enthusiasm and integrity were evident in everything he did. The shock, sorrow, and grief we're all experiencing has taken me somewhat by surprise in its intensity. I can only imagine how painful this must be for all of you, the ones who were closest to him. I hope you can find some small comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone in your grief - there are hundreds of us spanning the globe in all corners of the earth, who are all grieving along with you. How proud you all must be of him, to have someone in your life who has touched so many is truly something special. We will miss him, and he will be in our hearts every single day. Leah, thank you for sharing him with us, even if it was a bit later than it should have been from time to time. Please give Gracie a hug and some pets from Jeff's internet friends.

So sad to hear of Jeff's passing, I remember him vividly from his days at HHS, musicals, & chumming around with WL kids ( our daughter - Jessica- included) & Young Life.. He shared a Rich Mullins' song, one Sunday service at our church - Crestview. Lifting Leah & the Karstens families in prayers.
