John Hampton Obituary
John W. Hampton III, 44, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2017. John was born December 9, 1972 in Gary, to the late Janice Hampton and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1991.
He was a former employee at Market Square Lanes then decided to become a stay-at-home dad. He participated in his children's athletic activities, coaching his children's various sports as well as watching and playing basketball.
He is survived by his devoted wife Awilda Ortiz-Hampton, three children Destynee, Nadia and Da'John Hampton, four sisters, Doretha (Barry) Thomas, LaToya Bellinger, Kourtney Williams and Dywanna (Ricardo) Medina and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel at 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. Roxie McKee officiating.

Robbie and I are so sorry for your loss. Our daughter Maggie played softball with Nadia two years ago.I know we both lived at the ball field with our kids. May god bless you and your children in this grieving hour. He was a great father and a great friend his smile would light up a room, he will never be forgotten.
