Karin & family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. It was a honor to get to know and care for John, his determination was amazing. I know every time I swing my 3 iron during golf I will be thinking of him. Even though he retired from education, he was still teaching all of us that he encountered and he leaves such a legacy.

To Karin and the family--our thoughts and prayers are with you. John was such a delight, always smiling and such a "teddy bear", yet I remember him getting his point across very clearly in the various committees and task groups we shared at Holy Trinity. He will be missed.

John was a great mentor and role model for me. He was a strng assistant principal and always had a kind word or a funny story to tell to students and teachers alike. He loved what he did and loved Tecumseh. In retirement he came back often to end of year teacher retirement celebrations and kept the legacy of Tecumseh going for all of us. We will all miss John.

As another student at Tecumseh in the late 80's, I felt compelled to sign the guestbook, like many others have done. I think the mark of a good educator is that they're memorable, and they had an impact on the life of a child. Mr. Muncie was very memorable, and impacted MANY children, myself included. I strongly believe that the world would be a better place right now if we had more people like Mr. Muncie to keep kids in check during their formative years. You didn't dare get out of line with Mr. Muncie around, and while he loved all of us dearly, he didn't care about our "feelings", or whether we all got trophies, he cared about raising men and women who could make good decisions and become meaningful contributors to society. We need more people like him today. Rest well, Mr. Muncie. Thank you for keeping us kids in line. You had a lasting effect on many of us.

So sorry to hear of John's passing...
We have many good memories of times spent with John & Karin as well as fishing trips with Wilk & John & others thru the years..
Prayers for comfort & strength for Karin and his family thru this difficult time & in the days ahead..
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there; I did not die.
