Loren G. "Johnny" Wilder

Remington - Loren G. "Johnny" Wilder, 86, of Remington, passed away at 2:55 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at The Springs of Lafayette.



He was born September 10, 1931 in Remington to the late Clarence and Blanche (DeVoogt) Wilder. He was a graduate of Remington High School. Johnny proudly served in the United States Army, 1st Calvary from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1954.



Immediately after his discharge from the Army Johnny returned to the family farm where he would eventually raise his own family. He never wanted to be anything other than a farmer.



He was married to Margaret Alice Colglazier on December 22, 1957 in Lafayette at the Elmwood Church of Christ.



Johnny had a passion for gardening and shared the produce from his garden with the Remington Food Pantry. He also enjoyed his many bird feeders and sitting with his cat in his lap.



Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Sue Wilder of West Lafayette, and Mary Wilder of Nashville, TN. Also surviving is a brother, Ivan "Ike" Wilder of Remington.



Preceding him in death along with his parents are brothers, Ralph and Earl "Bill" Wilder.



Friends may call from 9-11 AM (EST) Friday, September 14, 2018 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. A committal service will be held immediately after the visitation in Remington Cemetery.
