M T Naimi Obituary
West Lafayette - Dr. M T Naimi, 76, of West Lafayette passed away peacefully at 5:15 PM on December 15, 2017 in his home, attended by his loving wife, close family, and devoted friends.
M T was an extraordinary man - a professor, diplomat, author, scholar, poet, and philosopher. He was a friend to the world and a man of peace and faith. Fluent in five languages, his work took him across the U.S. and to 25 countries. He loved teaching and being around young people. His knowledge, experiences, and delightful stories taught them powerful life lessons that many still remember to this day.
Known for his sound advice, engaging sense of humor, and captivating laugh, M T brought out the best in people. He touched their lives in profound ways, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
M T is survived by Linda, his devoted wife of 42 years, and an extended family.
A Celebration of M T's life will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
He will be laid to rest in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

My friend
It was with great sorrow that i found out about your passing. True, one can rejoice in the belief that you are in a pleasant place and all ills are of no concern. But now The world is just a bit more empty of the light that had shined on so many. My sister journeyed with you through this world. Together you both faced many things both good and bad, but you faced them together and that is the key. There are no words that can help heal the loneliness that Linda must surely feel, but knowing that she was and is loved, is the balm to soothe the ache. memories are priceless, they are a double edged sword to our emotions. To remember the good times brings about those bittersweet feelings of times shared and things lost to the present. But this is as it was intended and we, who are the ones who carry those memories, are the blessed. To feel nothing is indifference, to feel everything is to be human and that is divine.

My dear beloved, I find peace in the knowledge that you are with the Lord and can no longer be touched by pain or suffering. You have been joyfully reunited with your mother, family, and friends. But I miss you. I don't know how I will carry on without you, but I will try. The Lord knows how much I miss you. Today is your birthday and I will celebrate it quietly in remembrance of you - a man who walked in grace, wisdom, peace, and love... a man who walked with Jesus... a man who walked beside me, through 42 years of good times and bad, in absolute love and devotion. I look forward to the day when I will be with you again. God bless you, my dearest love.

MT., I miss you so very much but I know it is but a short time then we will all be gathered again together to share our presence and love and friendship for eternity. I know you are watching over Linda and she will be alright. MT. thank you for being a kind and thoughtful man and friend, my brother N Law. I know you are in a joyful, blissful, loving and beautiful place surrounded by other loves ones and many, many friends. We will see you again. love you with all my heart.
