Pamela S. Merida

Pamela Sue Merida, 58, of Brookston, IN, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at I.U. Health in Laporte, IN.

Born January 15, 1958 in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Betty Shuffield. Pamela married James "Jim" A. Merida on November 10, 1999 in White County and he survives. She received her bachelors degree from Purdue North Central. Pamela was a professor at the school of nursing at St. Elizabeth for ten years and was a Clinical Quality Manager at Riggs Community Health. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching sports.

Surviving with her husband, James "Jim" A. Merida, is her son, TJ Merida of Lafayette and step-daughter, Nicole Dawn Merida of Nashville, TN, Sister, Donna (Dick) Pawlak of Michigan City, IN and one grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10 am, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Dyke and Pastor Dick Pawlak officiating.
