Raymond E. "Ray" Funkhouser, 88

Raymond E. "Ray" Funkhouser, 88, of Cutler, died Mon.-Feb. 10, 2014 at 4:05pm at St. Vincent Hospital-Indianapolis. He was born Sept. 13, 1925 in Logansport, to the late Richard & Nancy Glosser Funkhouser. His marriage was to Rita Marie Turner in Walton, on June 19, 1949, and she preceded him in death on Mar. 17, 2008. He graduated from Washington Township High School, in Cass County in 1943. He farmed all of his life in Democrat Township, Carroll County, and raised hogs on his farm to. He was a member of the Carroll County Pork Producers. He enjoyed fishing, and traveling, and he and his wife visited all 50 states, and traveled over sea's as well. His farm produced many hogs for the Carroll County 4-H Fair, for his kids and grandchildren, and extended family. He enjoyed playing euchre, and was in a euchre card club for many years. Surviving: 3 sons-Dennis R. Funkhouser, companion Edith Webb of Lafayette, Gary & Vicki Funkhouser of Wingate, Thomas & Margie Funkhouser of Georgetown, TX; sister-Doris Hannawalt of Denton, TX; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson. Preceded in death by 2 daughters-Nancy Kay Pullen and her husband Thomas, Julia Ann Funkhouser. Services: friends may call Thursday from 5-8pm at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home, Flora. Funeral service there Friday 2pm, Pastor Steve Cole officiating. Burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. www.baker-abbottfh.com

Bowled with Ray, Fished with Ray, Played Cards with Ray he was always a gentleman. I will always remember his laugh. Rest in peace my friend and family we are praying for you.

Carroll County lost a nice man. He was such a great supporter of 4-H and I'm proud to be involved with him with the swine program. you are in my thoughts and prayers.
