Your father hired me to teach biology fresh out of Ball State. I taught at Twin Lakes for 2 years. He was a great educator and administrator. His legacy lives on at Twin Lakes and throughout Indiana. I also remember the days at Geneva as an elementary student. I really appreciated the friendship I had with Kevin during those years. May you all have a blessed time as a family.

Dr. Hanni was my guidance counselor at Berne French High School and as such gave me invaluable advice. He was a great mentor in helping me toward choosing a career in teaching and I later was pleased to meet him at a state hearing on early childhood education while teaching kindergarten. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May you all feel the wings of angels wrapped around you in comfort. He was such a special and caring man who was indeed dedicated to the world of education.

Dear Hanni Family,
I send you my deepest sympathy with the death of your father. He was a very honorable man and I have the utmost admiration for him. From Geneva through all of his journeys, he lived a full life. I admire him for serving for our country as my father did in WWII. He left a fabulous legacy and helped so many students and administrators in his career in education. What he did for Monticello was great. I pray that you will all have a good time together recalling what he did for you. I pray that you will find comfort and peace. Sincerely, Paul Beitler

Your dad was a huge mentor to me in so many ways. He also taught me alot about the house we live in as it was destroyed in the 74 tornado. I could never repay him what he has taught me in the short time I worked with him, I will miss him greatly.

The Hanni family and the Mrzlack family moved to Monticello close to the same time several years ago. Doc's son, Don, became one of my best friends and I spent a lot of time at the Hanni house. Bob, another son of Doc's, encouraged me to go out for the Twin Lakes swim team and we were teammates until he graduated. When I was trying to make a career choice in college, Doc encouraged me to find my purpose in life, to make a difference, and to use my talents and gifts that I had had been blessed with. He was instrumental in my choosing a law career and I am forever grateful for his guidance. Robert B. Hanni was truly a gentleman and a scholar and the Twin Lakes school community and the City of Monticello are better places because of his presence. May God bless him and his family and may he rest in peace.

Your father was a very special man. He will be missed greatly. I enjoyed his words of wisdom and stories of his life. (I might have some blackmail material on some of you) He was ready to be with the love of his life. They can now walk through eternity hand in hand. Will continue to pray for all of you.

Hanni family,
What a great man your father was. He would always greet you with how are YOU doing. Always thinking of others first. I always enjoyed hearing stories when he and our father James T were together on several of their trips. He will always be remembered.

As a parent with a child at Yeoman Elementary School--much too often there was a teacher that did NOT perform well! I finally went to Bob==he knew well the problems then and TOOK CARE OF THEM! He remained a friend throughout. I loved him and will miss him. My heartfelt sympathy to his children--especially Don(our deceased daughter's friend when they were in Indianapolis.

Kids of a Gentleman,
Please know you and your families are in our prayers. Your Father was such a staple for this community! Without fail, he would always shake my hand, give me a smile and ask how my Dad was doing. "Doc" Hanni and Earl Keller had a special bond...two guys simply doing what was right for others. This pretty-much sums it up! Rest in Peace our friend. Your legacy will be just that...Helping Others...Period! Our Lord and Savior would have it no other way.
