Her smile and her delightful attitude. She was just an Amazing person who always greeted you with a smile. I remember first meeting Shirley when DanLee and I were getting married in 1983. When we moved back to the area in 1996, she was an instrumental mentor in my faith through MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) and was a godly example to this young mother of a woman living her life for her savior, Jesus Christ. I had the privilege of serving with her on the steering committee at MOPS for several years and during that time, she taught me a lot about being a godly wife and mother.

She was kind, tender-hearted, encouraging, and truly lived out Colossians 4:6 in her speech. She and Dave have been faithful partners in our ministry these past 11 years, and I know that her prayers for us have been answered because God's word says that the prayers of the righteous have great power (James 5:16).

I am so sorry for your loss as I know how hard it is to lose your mom. And to Dave...I can only imagine what you are going through. I pray for God's comfort and grace to you all in this difficult time. But I am thankful that we who know Christ don't need to grieve as those who have no hope of seeing our loved ones again. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

Now Shirley is at home with her Lord, the One she lived her life for and I can't help but think of how she must have felt when she was welcomed by Jesus with His words, "well done thou good and faithful servant."

And, (as in the song "I Can Only Imagine") I can only imagine what her response was when she saw her Lord and Savior face to face!

I am sorry that we will not be able to come to the celebration of Shirley's life as we will be out of town. But you will be in our hearts and prayers. Our love to all.

Shirley was always a classy lady and one we treasured as a precious friend. Our hearts ache for you and your family, Dave, but know you have peace knowing she is with her Lord and Savior. So blessed to have known her.
