Thomas Bates Obituary
Thomas Michael Bates, 56, of Lafayette passed away unexpectedly on October 26th 2011 at his residence. He was born April 30th, 1955 in Lafayette to Mary Alice Koepkey Bates and the late Thomas Harris Bates. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1973. He worked for Alcoa for 30 years retiring in 2008. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Surviving with his mother are two sons, Thomas Joshua Bates and Christopher Michael Bates Miller and two grandchildren, Breanna Nichol Davis of Texas and Tyler Joshua Bates of Lafayette. He bequeathed his body to the Indiana University Medical Center. There were no services.
