Clayton Parker Guthrie

Hubert - Clayton Parker Guthrie, 85, of Hubert, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Woodbury Wellness in Hampstead. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at the Parker Family Cemetery.

Mr. Guthrie was a son of the late Furman and Alice Parker Guthrie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Guthrie; and his son, Dennis Guthrie.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Morton and her husband, Steve of Valdosta, GA; daughter-in-law, Debbie Guthrie of Hubert; his sister, Audrey Parker of Hubert; grandson, Jason Guthrie and his wife, Kate of Athens, GA; two granddaughters, Stephanie Mitchum and her husband, Mark of Orange Park, FL and Lisa Eckwahl and her husband, Jacob of Valdosta, GA; great-grandson, Gabe Guthrie of Athens, GA; a niece, Vickie Stanley and her husband, Tommy of Raleigh; brother-in-law, RT Green of OR; and sister-in-law, Beverly Galusha and her husband, Ron of Washington and best friend, Henry Jenkins.

Most everyone knows that Clayton loved gardening and keeping his yard "looking good", so every time you cut your grass or pick that tomato, think of him.

The family will receive friends Monday morning, prior to the service, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church - Building Fund, PO Box 48, Stella, NC 28582.
