Emily Bostic Obituary
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at Jones Funeral Home, Richlands Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Phenix officiating.
Mrs. Bostic worked as a teacher's assistant and a beautician.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Bostic of the home; one daughter, Michele Bostic Simpson and her husband, A.J., of Richlands; one brother, Everett Edwards Sr. and his wife, Brenda, of Richlands; two grandchildren, Austin and Cathrine Foxx; and one nephew, Everett Edwards Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday evening following the service until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Mama, today's my birthday. 44 years ago I learned to recognize your heartbeat inside and out. Today, I remember, and thank you for all you be ever given and shown me. I try so hard to be the mama and grandma you were...i feel I fall short. But I'm still trying. I've been so blessed, thank God & you and all our ancestors for it....loves gotten a hold and I don't intend to let go and work hard at it everyday. I love and miss you so much, thank you for my birthday.

Miss you sooo much. It's not feeling like it's almost been a year. For me, it's like yesterday. I love & miss you so much, I now understand why you couldn't deal with Christmas after lossing grandma, it's just not the same anymore.

Emily you are still missed by your friends,family and especially me,but I know you are at peace and have no more pain. Emily was a good friend, a person who helped me out when asked. She and I worked together and had some good times at hair shows together. My prayers are with the family and love them all.

It has been a privilage being a friend and neighbor to the Bostic family for so many years. I could alway count on Emily, Dennis, Michele, Everett and Brenda for anything. They were great friends and neighbors. Emily loved her family and it showed. She will be truly missed but the memories will remain forever. She was a wonderful friend.

What a caring, wonderful lady Emily was! She was so helpful to me as a band booster. Whatever needed to be done--she did it. Emily made a tremendous impact on Richlands through her willingness to help countless numbers of students in the schools. What a wonderful legacy!!

Emily was such a powerful force; it's hard to believe she has left us. Teachers and students at Trexler had an amazing role model who shaped our lives by showing the value of having convictions to live by and the importance of humor. She made all of us stronger and sealed the lessons with a good laugh. ? She will be missed.

I have many memories of Emily growing up, attending church at Haw Branch, going to school together and seeing each other through the years.
