Fletcher Baker Obituary
Fletcher and his brother, Marvin (deceased), owned Dainty Maid Bread Company together and served the restaurants and grocery stores in the Jacksonville, Swansboro and Richlands area. Additionally, Fletcher was an avid supporter of White Oak High School athletics and was the co-founder of the Feast of the East, a yearly fundraiser held to support athletics at the school. He served on the Onslow County Board of Education, was a real estate salesman, attended Pine Valley United Methodist Church and enjoyed being with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Fletcher is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou (Hardy) Baker, his three children: Bizz and his wife Amye; Melissa Smith and her husband James of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Tim and his wife Patty; who all love the Lord. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Chip and his wife Adrienne; Jes Smith and his wife Rachel; Zack and his wife Kate; Jacob Smith; Carly; and Ty; and six great-grandchildren: Jay, Luke, and Nate Smith; Kirsten Weaber; Kelsa; and Harlan; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
We invite everyone to a family visitation at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, N.C., on Monday evening, November 26th, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Pine Valley United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. May he rest in peace.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Alzheimer Related Care (ARC) of Jacksonville for the way they loved and cared for Fletcher through this past year. Additionally, he never met a stranger and enjoyed his many visits from his community of friends and neighbors.

I was happy that I got the chance to meet Fletcher and get to know him some. He was a great man! We would pray together and I tried to comfort him in the best way. We at the ARCof Jacksonville will truly miss him!!! Are prayers are with the family during this hard time

Whenever I think of Fletcher, I think of Emmaus. God bless and comfort all of the family members as you grieve Fletcher's absence here on earth but also rejoice in his new life in glory!
