Glorian Piper

Jacksonville, NC | Glorian Hinz Piper, 92, passed away peacefully in her home on her birthday on Monday, October 10th, 2016.
Born in 1924, to the late Walter and Anna Hinz, Glorian grew up in Cresskill, NJ and later moved to Hoboken, NJ where she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, the late Calvin G. Piper. Married in 1944, they moved to Hillsdale, NJ where they raised their family. In addition to being a devoted mother and wife, she was a dedicated secretary for Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY and Medical Economics in Oradell, NJ. They retired to Jacksonville, NC in 1988. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lynn Alberti, and her nephew, Darryl Ruh.
Glorian is the beloved mother of son, Glenn Piper and wife Barbara of Lewes, DE; daughter, Wendy Stitz of Jacksonville, NC; daughter, Lauren Smith and husband Colin of Jacksonville, NC; and daughter, Nadine Timpanaro of Hillsdale, NJ. She is also survived by her sister, Vaughn Ruh and husband, Frank, of Hillsdale, NJ; ten grandchildren: Holly Piper-Smith and husband Jeremiah, Wesley Piper and wife Jen, Shannon Hoertt and husband Dustin, Rebecca Cannady and husband Jeff, Bryan Stitz and wife Molly, Kyle Stitz and wife Meghan, Callie Timpanaro, Stephanie Stitz, Steven Timpanaro, and Nicholas Timpanaro and ten great-grandchildren, Owen, Noah, Alyssa, Logan, Eva, Katelyn, Austin, Harper, Sam and Luke.
Glorian was extremely devoted to her family, friends, and loved ones. She had great pride in her faith, family, values, and heritage. She will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at Infant of Prague Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern, NC.
