Robert Bowen Obituary
He was retired from the United States Marine Corps and served in World War II and the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. During his time in service, he excelled as a marksman and earned the honor of Distinguished Shooter. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Trinity Auto Sales for many years. He found his true passion when he discovered his love of flying and became a licensed pilot.
He is preceded in death by a son, Robert M. Bowen. Survivors are his wife, Ellen M. Bowen; son, Mark C. Bowen; daughter, Julie M. Bowen Noble; grandchildren, Jason Bowen, Marie Bowen Hall, Makayla Bowen and his great-grandchildren, Cameron Frame, Brayden Hall, Joshua Bowen and Juliana Bowen.
He was a devoted husband, father and a friend to so many in his community.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the staff at the North Carolina State Veterans Home for the compassionate care given to Robert.
