Ronald Jones Obituary

Ronald Earl Jones, 75, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the funeral services at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace T. Jones; and grandmother, Lillian K. Tallman. He was so devoted to them and always there for them.
Ronald has been a member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville for over 60 years. He enjoyed fellowship at his church, as well as Kellum Baptist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Sue J. Browning and husband Richard, one nephew, Blair and wife Kathy and their son, Richard. Little Richard was always so enthused whenever Ronald came to visit, and he wanted to follow him every step.
Ronald also had many cousins that will miss him dearly. His cousin, Joe Allen of Jacksonville was such a blessing in helping Ronald particularly these last several years.
Ronald retired from Humphrey Heating and Air Conditioning after many years working as a bookkeeper. He had many talents and hobbies through the years. He enjoyed all sports, and loved music. He played several instruments for the pleasure of all who heard him. He enjoyed doing puzzles – the Daily News puzzle page was a daily challenge, and he was quite good at them!
He enjoyed going to musical events. He frequently went to singings in Swansboro and Hubert. Eating out and attending these functions with his special friend, Berlene Smith of Swansboro, added to the enjoyment.
The family would like to thank all the devoted nurses, doctors and personnel who attended him while at Critical Care Unit at DRH, Durham, NC.
Electronic condolences may be left for the family at Jonesfh.org.
