Ronald Tipton Obituary
Ronald proudly served his country in the USMC for over 22 years when he retired as a MGySgt. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Ronald was an avid golfer who could always be found on the Paradise Golf course on base. He will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger and as a person who was full of life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Geralda "Andi" Tipton; son, Stephen Charles Tipton (Susan Lane) of Italy; daughter, Cindy Gerald (Pierre) of Fisherville, KY; grandchildren, Kelsey Lynn Gradus, Abbie Lynn Wiggs, Brandon Tipton, Nicholas Tipton, and great-grandchild, Hadley Fose.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Ron was a dear friend of mine. My former platoon sergeant and company gunny while I served as his platoon commander and company executive officer at Company B, Marine Barracks, Subic Bay, Philippines.
Ron was a superb Marine, leader and mentor.
Our families remain close, and Andi is my wife's best friend since first meeting each other over 55 years ago.
I often visit "Tip" at his gravesite here in Jacksonville NC. Sure do miss him.
We love you Ron.

Sincere condolences for a fine Marine who will be long remembered. He was my Platoon Sergeant Delta 1/4 in Vietnam, and was an exceptional leader. May he rest in blessed peace, and may God watch over and comfort Mrs. Tipton and the Family throughout this sad time and always.

My condolences to the Tipton family. Ron was a student of mine at CCCC. He was my teacher at the driving range on Gum Branch. He was such a good person who helped everyone he met. May God Bless your family.

I light a candle in honor of Mr. Tipton. Thank you for your many years, in the Military, dedicated to serving our Country. I am blessed to have met you and to know your wonderful family throughout all these years. A sad loss for the family is a wonderful gain for Heaven. Peace, love and comfort be with the family during this time.
