Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Banner Post 109 American Legion Building in Benson with Ed Garcia officiating.
He was U.S. Army veteran, a retired nurse with Johnston County Medical Center and President of the N.C. U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Clubs.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Rebecca Gibbs of Benson; son, Joseph Wayne; stepdaughters, Jennifer Byrd of Benson and Cynthia Owen of Quakertown, Pa.; and stepson Willie Byrd Jr. of Knightdale.
