Dominic Santell Obituary

Dominic "Nick" Santell, 76, of Brookville, passed away on December 5, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease, at the Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

Dominic was born in Cresson on May 22, 1947, to the late Dominic and Catherine (Lance) Santell.

Dominic graduated from Cresson High School in Cresson. Shortly after high school, Dominic enlisted in the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, he worked in the coal mines. Dominic was considered a "jack of many trades" and spent the majority of his working career as a technician for Penelec, retiring after 30 years of service in 2007.

Following his retirement, Dominic enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, and summers camping with his loving wife Ginger, of over 32 years. They made countless memories over the years which will be cherished.

Dominic was a devoted family man, and his most treasured times were spent with his family. He also enjoyed playing cards, line dancing and playing shuffleboard.

Dominic attended church at Port Barnett Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brookville.

In addition to his wife Ginger, Dominic is survived by three children, Renee (Rich) Harp of a Gallitzin, Gina (Shawn) Bingaman of Westover, and David (Carroll) Santell of Saint Marys; two stepsons, David McDonald, and Daniel (Alexandra) McDonald; his only brother, William (Joyce) Santell from Cresson; six grandchildren, Lindsey Sears, Kelly (Simon) Davis, Shawn Bingaman Jr., Kaylee and Kyle Santell and Jacob McDonald; and four great-grandchildren, Maxlyn and Jayden Bingaman, Mycha Stillman, and Ritley Davis.

In addition to his parents, Dominic was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Santell.

In respect of Dominic's wishes, all services will be held privately. There will be a private memorial service held for his family, and private military honors conducted by the Brookville Honor Guard. Interment will also be private at the St. John's "Windy Hill" Cemetery, Rose Township, Jefferson County.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Port Barnett Methodist Church of Brookville, 65 Evans St., Brookville, PA 15825.
