Kenneth Copenhaver Obituary

Kenneth Fred Copenhaver, 77 of Oliveburg passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Copenhaver was born on Jan 30, 1938 in NuMine, PA a son of the late Spurgeon Albert and Florence Naomi (Shreckengost) Copenhaver.
Kenneth married Nancy Louise Yeaney on July 10, 1957 who survives him. Kenneth and Nancy were a loving couple married for over 57 years and lived life to the fullest.
Kenneth was a US Navy veteran and active in the community. He was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church and the John W. Jenks Masonic Lodge #534 of Punxsutawney. Kenneth enjoyed playing cards and was once an avid hunter. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed being with and spending quality time with his family. Kenneth especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom brought immense joy to him.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy of 57 years; two daughters, Melanie Anderson and her husband Robert of Ulysses, PA, and Monica and her husband Robert "Grover" Haag of Oliveburg. Kenneth is also survived by his brother Richard Lee Copenhaver and wife Marcia of Lancaster and one sister Helen Glovier of Pittsburgh. He is survived by five grandchildren and their families, Rob Anderson and his wife Heather, Michael Anderson and his wife Kim, Kristen (Anderson) DiSalvo and her husband Jon, Robert Haag and Carrie Petrich, and Brian Haag. Kenneth is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Matthew and Rachel Anderson, Scarlet DiSalvo, and Deven Haag.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Kevin Copenhaver; a sister, Catherine Pearl Wood; and a granddaughter, Ashlee Haag.
In keeping with the family's wishes, all arrangements are private and under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney. Mr. Copenhaver will be interred at the Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery, Beaver Township, Jefferson County, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's memory can be made to the Stanton United Methodist Church, or the Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery.
