Richard Gadley Obituary

Richard Eugene "Doc" Gadley, 65, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at his parents' home.

He was born on May 2, 1957, to Richard Harold and Shirley Ann (Smith) Gadley in Brookville. Doc attended school in the Brookville area and retired from Upbring as an operating engineer with Local 66. He was member of the Brookville Fireman's Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #983. He was also an Eagles Scout.

Doc is survived by two brothers, Terry Lynn (Barbi) Gadley, Steven Keith Gadley; one niece, Kira (Doug) Walker; one nephew, Jacob (Nicole) Gadley; one great-niece, Dakota; one great-nephew, Izzy; three aunts, Geraldine Olson, Ilene Gadley Bolt, Carol Gadley; and numerous cousins.

Doc was preceded in passing by his father.

As Doc wished, there will be no viewing at this time and a graveside service will be held to the public at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. Interment will take place on Doc's nephew's property where he will be buried next to his father. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of the donor's choice. My sincere condolences to Doc Gadley's family. Doc was a warm, kind, and gentle soul, with a heart of gold. I am certain his presence will be missed by his family and his multitude of friends in Brookville and elsewhere. He may be gone, but he is far from forgotten. I raise a toast to Richard Eugene Gadley, a genuinely loved and original character!
