Sara Duck Obituary
Born March 5, 1919 in Oliver Twp, Jefferson Co., her parents were the late Samuel Howard and Katherine Eshbaugh Smith.
Sara was married to Amos Edward Duck on October 24, 1942 in Georgia. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2001. She enjoyed sending cards and writing letters. Sara was a member of Pleasant Hill Bible Church.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Cathy (Junior C.) Himes of Summerville, a son; Eddie Duck of Summerville, three sisters; Betty Wolfe of Brookville, Mary Alice Little of Creekside, PA, Anne Stankiewicz of Monroeville PA, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Sara is preceded in death by two brothers, Grover and Russell Smith, and three sisters, Hazel Hoch, Ida Merle Hoch, and Lucinda Kerner.
Her family will receive friends on Monday July 27, 2015 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm and Tuesday July 28 from 10 -11 am at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Jerry Hoch officiating.
Per the family's request, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Bible Church, 1902 Sandy Flat Road, Summerville, PA 15864.
Interment will be in the Worthville Cemetery in Ringgold Twp., Jefferson County, PA.

Sally and Amos help raise my brother "Frank Loomis" and myself "Leanna" She was always so very loving and like our own mother. I surely know she is in heaven with her heavenly Father now. WE will see her and be "Hugged by her someday again soon". She surely will be missed.
