Mr. Clayton Dwight Weaver, better known as "Jack," of Warrensville passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 8, 2014, at his home. He was 86.
Mr. Weaver was born in Ashe County on Sunday, March 20, 1927, to the late Raymond and Dale Spencer Weaver.
Jack graduated in 1951 from Emory & Henry College. He retired from Sprague Electric Mfg. Company, where he was the Personal Director. He was a member of Warrensville United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He enjoyed trout fishing and his animals, especially his dog, "Buddy."
He also loved studying the Civil War. But most of all, he loved his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Little.
Mr. Weaver is survived by his wife, Clarice Wiles Weaver; two sons, Scott Weaver, of the home and Mitchell Weaver and wife, Hope, of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Sharon Weaver and her fiancé Richard Smith, of Franklin, Tenn., and Nina Wynn and husband, Richard, of Charlotte; and four grandchildren, Katie Wynn, John Wynn, Autumn Weaver and Sierra Weaver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Warrensville United Methodist Church with Rev. Margaret Wannemacher officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Ashe Assisted Living Memory Care Unit, 182 Chattyrob Lane, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
