David Lawrence Vinson, better know as "Larry," passed away at his home in Laurel Springs on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017. Born in Stapleton, AL on September 7, 1943, he is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Preston Vinson and Ruby Trawick Vinson and 2 siblings, Richard Vinson and Diane Homan. He is survived by 3 siblings, Gary Vinson, Betty Raby (David) and Randy Vinson; 2 daughters, Kelly Vinson and Christina Marrow (David) and 4 grandchildren.
Larry left home at age 18 to work in Washington, D.C. but spent the majority of his life in Raleigh, NC where he established his commercial real estate company, Equity and Investors Management Corporation. He was happy to "semi" retire to the mountains in 2013. In his final years, he enjoyed meeting friends for breakfast, being outdoors and taking his grandchildren for a spin on his John Deere Gator. He will long be remembered for his kindness and generosity and his quick sense of humor. A celebration of life service will be held at Peak Creek Church of the Brethren in Laurel Spring, NC on November 18th, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
