Robert "Bob" Henry Stoffregen Sr. of Pleasant Garden passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. He was 90.
A private memorial service will be held for the family in Pleasant Garden on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. Cremation to follow.
Formerly of Ashe and Watauga Counties, Bob was born in Illinois on April 1, 1923, and worked on the family dairy farm as a young man.
Bob was married to Jane Shafer on Oct. 27, 1945; they were married 68 wonderful years.
A tradesman, Bob worked in the plumbing, carpentry and HVAC trades. His ability to create and build was truly a magnificent gift. Bob enjoyed making tin crafts and spent many Saturdays at the local flea and farmer's markets, earning him the nickname "Tinman." Bob's love for his wife and family was second to none.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jane; his children, Pat (Robin) Jones of Pleasant Garden, Linda Stoffregen of Harrisburg, Pa., Bob Stoffregen Jr (Connie Stahl) of Williamsport, Pa., Debbie (Tommy) Norris of Todd, and Jenny (Doug) Anderson of Hampstead. Also survived are loving grand and great grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Stoffregen; a brother Louis; and sister, Dorothy, all of Illinois.
