Carolyn Craig Obituary

Carolyn Ann (Replogle) Craig, 79, of Waverly, Ohio lost her battle with cancer at 1:08 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2025, at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio.

Carloyn was born September 26, 1946, in Charleston, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford Replogle, and Cleda (Kibler) Replogle. On February 12, 1967, she was united in marriage to James Edward Craig, who survives.

She is also survived by three children, Kyle Craig (Jeniffer Rodriguez), of Ossining, New York, Gayle Craig, of Columbus, Ohio, and Daniel Craig (Ellen Mays), of Dayton, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Jonah, Norah, Hazel and Elliot Mays-Craig all of Dayton, Ohio, and Emma, and Eric Craig Rodriguez both of Ossining, New York. She also leaves a brother, John Replogle of Phoenix, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jimmie Replogle.

Carolyn attended the Doty one room schoolhouse for six years. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1964.

Carolyn earned a secretarial degree from Utterback's Business College, Mattoon, Illinois. Over the years, she had 3 legal secretary jobs. But she will always say her favorite job was "being a mother!"

Carolyn, along with her husband Jim, was passionate about being active in the churches that they attended, including Unity Chapel UMC, Otterbein UMC, and New Hope Worship Center, all of Charleston, Illinois; St. Paul's UMC, Findlay, Ohio; and River Valley Community Church, Waverly, Ohio. She taught children's and adult Sunday school classes, and led small groups and youth groups, at each of these churches. She was co-director of an Ohio UMC Family Church Camp for over 20 years and continued to advise the leadership for over 20 more years. She also authored a book about the how-tos and the experiences of running a Church Family Camp titled "Reconnecting Time, Planning Church Family Camps" in 2005.

She served as a Block Representative at Bristol Village Retirement Community, using her organizational, secretarial, and administrative skills.

She penned her memoirs in a book called "A Legacy of Love" in 2024.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Bristol Village Glenn Center, Waverly, Ohio with Rev. Greg Creech officiating. There will also be a celebration of her life, and interment, in Illinois in the future. Information regarding both events can be obtained at http://tiny.cc/carolyncraig46.
