Dianna Lynn Ensign

August 16, 1951 - November 27, 2024

Dianna Lynn Ensign, 73, of Charleston, Illinois, left us peacefully at her home and went to be with her Lord on 11-27-2024. A beloved wife and mother, "Dian" will always be remembered for being a devoted Catholic and her kindness and willingness to help those in trouble, even strangers.

Born on August 16th, 1951, in Bradley, IL, to Mary and Irvin LaBarge. Dian was an active member of the St. Charles Borromeo Church, a Past Senior Regent and Life Member of Moose Lodge. She spent her career in Financial Aid at Eastern Illinois University where she assisted numerous students. On August 31st, 1974, she married the love of her life, Daniel Ensign. The two shared a passionate romance that lasted over 50 years and yielded two children.

Dian is survived by her husband, daughter Kim (Todd Yurs), son Jake Ensign and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother James Labarge, and parents Mary and Irvin LaBarge.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 7th, 2024. Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. and lunch at Noon - all at the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Charleston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Carle Mattoon on Hurst Oncology, Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice, or St. Charles Borromeo Church.
