Donna Spraker Obituary
August 23, 1951 - May 14, 2025
CHARLESTON – Donna Jean Spraker, 73, of rural Charleston, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home.
The funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Huckaba Cemetery, rural Charleston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Donna was born August 23, 1951 at Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of Iosie Wayne and Bernice (Perisho) Melton. She married Alan Lynn Spraker July 29, 1972 at Westfield; he survives. Also surviving is their daughter Anna and husband David Melton of Mattoon; and two sisters, Deb Bennett and husband Kevin of Tuscola and Judy Bueker of Sullivan, IN. She was preceded into Heaven by her parents, and one sister, Dolores Grubb.
Donna was a graduate of Westfield Schools, and attended Lake Land College majoring in Business. She worked at Kater's Cleaners for more than 21 years, and in later years received her C.N.A. degree, putting it to use as a Care Giver at Hammond Lanes. She took extraordinary care of the residents, and came to love them all. Donna was a 4-H Leader and had taught Sunday School at Word of Life Church in Casey for 10 years.

Donna was such an amazing lady! She took the best care of my Grandparents at Hammond Lane. Not sure what I would have done without her. She was an amazing lady. She will be missed.
