Douglas Stephens Obituary

CHARLESTON - Douglas Wayne Stephens, 48, of Charleston, passed away at 2:12 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral services honoring his life will be held on Saturday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Ave. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Mound Cemetery in Charleston. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Doug was born on September 26, 1963 in Charleston, the son of Carroll Wayne and Carole M. (Heath) Stephens. He married Brenda Ellen Golladay on June 28, 1985. Survivors include his wife, Brenda of Charleston; his daughter Amanda Davis and husband Chris of Charleston; daughter Jennifer Stephens of Charleston; granddaughter Savannah Stephens-Gray, and his mother Carol Rebelsky of Mattoon. He was preceded in death by his father and all four of his grandparents. Doug loved working on cars and computers often fixing them for people. He previously worked at Charleston Foundry and currently worked as a custodial engineer at ESS and MMMM janitorial services. Memorial gifts in his honor are suggested to his family.

Carole, Brenda, Amanda & Jennifer and Families; What a shock to find out about Doug. I've known him my entire life! I am sorry for your losses, it is very difficult I know, Carole I cant imagine loosing a child, you must be hurting terribly. Brenda, you have my deepest heartfelt sympathy, and Amanda/Jenni, I only know too recently about loosing your parent(s). You are all in my thoughts and Prayers.
