Mabel Weber Obituary

Mabel Louise Weber, 85, of Mattoon, departed this life at 12:43 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17th, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 p.m. at the Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon. Burial will follow in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Mabel was born on January 16, 1921, in Bement, Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Crisup) Schoby. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Illinois. She married Harry Weber Jr. on June 6, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by nieces, Mary Ann Brand and husband Bill of Mattoon and Alice Mae Jones and husband Stan of Farmer City; nephew, Harvey Dunn Jr. of Mattoon; beloved friends, Rosemary Betty, Julie Ashworth, Mark Trueblood, Joe Trueblood, Jack Trueblood, all of rural Mattoon, Andy Trueblood of Charleston, Larry Hurst of Lerna, Debbie Waggoner, Mark and Merrie Henderson, and her special little friend, Memphis Lee Waggoner, all of Mattoon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Weber, in 1999 and her daughter, Kay Weber, in 2003. Mrs. Weber, a longtime resident of Mattoon, was a homemaker and babysitter. She was devoted to her family and friends, enjoying talking to and making friends with everyone she met. Mabel will be remembered for her wonderful spirit and sense of humor. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
