Mrs. Farrar is one of the reasons I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ today. She was instrumental in helping me learn the Bible stories through her weekly lessons that she shared in Children's Church at Trinity Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. She was so patient with the hundreds of children that came through this program and made sure we knew we were loved by her as well as God. I also rode to Vacation Bible School with her and the Colonel in their big red and gray van on many occasions. I have so many fond memories of all the songs and stories she taught us using flannel-graph. Today, I am pastor of Fairview Baptist Church near Coushatta, Louisiana and I know that she is a big reason. I often think of 'Mrs. Beeney' who led me to faith in Christ and started me off right in my walk with Him. On Christmas Day, my six-year-old son Levi read the Christmas story to us from a little Read-and-Grow Picture Bible that he loves. In the front of this Bible is a note that was written by Mrs. Farrar. It says that she gave this to me as an award from learning the 23rd Psalm and reciting it 'word-perfect' in Children's Church and it has the date: Oct. 6, 1985. Oh friends, please know that Mrs. Farrar was a light to so many thousand people in this world. In particular know that she led many thousand children to faith in Christ. She was such a wonderful servant of Christ. I so wish I could be at her Homegoing service to thank her one last time on this side of eternity, but I know I will see her again. Praise by to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
His Kingdom Come,
Rev. Matthew Endris

What an amazing woman of faith. It is because of her obedience to God through teaching children, that I came to an understanding of God's great love for me. It was also through an illustration that she used for me, that I recently used to lead my own daughter to the Lord. Thank you Lord for your servant, Mrs. Farrar.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Mrs. Beeney and the Colonel will always have a special place in our hearts. Her love for children and the desire for them to know the Lord made her our hero, and we still miss our birthday wake-up call from the Colonel.
We am looking forward to celebrating in heaven with them both.

Thank you Ms Beeney for all the leadership and guidance you gave our children at THBC. Our sons came to know the Lord through you teaching them in childrens church. I also miss the Colonel calling us bright and early on our birthdays. We didn't have to set our clocks to get up! HA!
You both were blessings to our family and will be truly missed.

Mrs. Farrar was one of the most instrumental people in my life as it relates to my Christian walk. She had a heart to share God's word with children and I will never forget watching Bible stories come to life on a flannel board as she told a story. I have many fond memories of her. Heaven is rejoicing at her homecoming!

Benney Farrar was one of God's chosen instruments in working with children. My own two children were taught much by this great woman and are in God's service today because of what she instilled in them. She will be greatly missed.

What a precious, precious lady! Only eternity will reveal all of the thousands of lives that she and the "Colonel" touched. She was one of the most memorable individuals that I have ever known and a model of what a Christian should be.

John, now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you, as you have been that to her. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Aunt 'Beaney and Uncle George were always a part of our family and our reunions. As a young girl I remember Aunt Beany's sweet sweet smile and gentle laughter. She never wanted to be in the 'forefront' of the activities with the family - she was so contented sitting in her chair and watching the future generation having fun and eating scrumptious meals!! I send my love to each of you who have been so blessed by the life of this very remarkable lady.....we are all young once and we believed we were immortal, and because of family support and teaching, we realized that we will all be here for just a short while.....let's love as much as possible. Rest easy, Beany - you did a great job here on earth!! Love you,, Mary

Mrs. Farrar and her husband always carried the love of Christ with them, no matter where they were or who they were with. I have many special memories of Mrs. Farrar, especially her Backyard Bible Club during one particular summer. Please know that Mrs. Farrar touched many, many lives of the children of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. We loved her and her husband.

I HEARD AN ANGEL SING

I HEARD AN ANGEL SING TODAY
WHEN I WAS FEELING SAD AND LOW
SHE SANG OF LIFE - AND LIGHT - AND LOVE
AND SAID "FROM GOD ALL BLESSINGS FLOW".

I TOLD HER I FELT SAD AND BLUE
THAT SWEET MARJORIE HAS 'GONE'
AND HERE IS WHAT SHE SAID TO ME
BEFORE SHE TRAVELED ON :

AN ANGEL SPIRIT LANDED HERE TODAY
SHIMMERING ON SILVER WINGS
SHE STOOD BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD
AND HEARD THE ANGELS SING.

GOD MET THIS ANGEL SPIRIT
AND OPENED WIDE THE DOOR
TO A SPECIAL PLACE CALLED PARADISE
WHERE THIS ANGEL WILL FOREVER SOAR.

I KNOW THIS ANGEL SPIRIT
SHE WAS SIMPLY AUNT BEENEY TO ME
AND I KNOW THAT AS I WRITE THIS
SHE IS FLYING HIGH AND FREE.

TAKE COMFORT , ALL WHO MOURN HER
SHE IS WHERE ALL GOOD SPIRITS GO
SHE IS RESTING IN THE ARMS OF GOD
HER ANGEL SPIRIT ALL AGLOW.

Rest in peace, Aunt Beeney -- say hi to everybody for me!

It was a joy, privilege, honor, and a blessing to know Marjorie Beeney Farrar. My first knowledge of her came when my son, Matt, went to Children's Church at Trinity Heights Baptist Church. He loved it so and he soaked in everything that "Miss Beeney" taught. My son, Paul, followed in his time. Both sons came to faith in Christ through her teaching. And I came to a deeper faith through Bible study classes with the Farrars, Gibbs, Laytons, Shavers, and many more faithful students of the Word. She was a mentor to me in my young adulthood. I loved her and "The Colonel" dearly. I would love to be at the service, too, but I look forward to a happier and more splendid opportunity to renew our acquaintance. 'Til we meet again, Miss Beeney!
