MATTOON - Phyllis "Sue" Potter, 85, of rural Mattoon, IL, passed away at 1:30 AM, November 8, 2023, in the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL.
She was born August 22, 1938, in Paradise Township Coles County, IL, the daughter of Fred M. and E. Opal (Hines) Campbell. Sue married Robert G. Potter March 15, 1959, in the Zion Hill Chapel Paradise Township Coles County, IL. She was a homemaker and a teacher for Mattoon and Chicago School Districts. Sue was a member of the Neoga First Christian Church, The Christian Motorcyclist Association, and The Harley Owners Group.
Mrs. Potter is survived by her husband, Robert G. Potter of rural Mattoon, IL; son, James Potter of Mattoon, IL; daughter, Janet (Paul) Coffman of Yakima, WA; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday November 11, 2023, at the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, IL. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM until service time also at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Neoga First Christian Church or the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home.
