Reid L. Cornwell

July 25, 1954 - October 9, 2025

SULLIVAN - Reid L. Cornwell, 71, of Sullivan, passed away 1:40 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, in his residence.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Sullivan Fire and Ambulance Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net.

Reid was born on June 25, 1954, in Tuscola, Ill., the son of Donald D. and Virginia K. Blasse Cornwell. He was a hoist truck operator for R.R. Donnelley Company in Mattoon.

Reid was a former volunteer member of the Sullivan Fire Department, was a member of the Arcola Lawn Rangers, the Sullivan VFW and the Sullivan American Legion. Reid was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Survivors include his son, Curtis (Morgan) Cornwell of Mattoon; daughter, Vanessa Cornwell of Villa Grove; and grandchildren Mia Cornwell and Stella Cornwell, both of Mattoon, and Trevin Cornwell of Carmel, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Cornwell.
