Robert "Bob" M. Ronchetti

MATTOON - Robert "Bob" M. Ronchetti, age 77 of Mattoon, IL passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A funeral service in his honor will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938; Reverend Ron Dickinson will officiate. The visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 2 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2025, in Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon, IL.
Bob was born March 1, 1948, in Springfield, IL to late Frank J. Sr. and Lois (Trimble) Ronchetti. After his mother's passing at a very young age, Bob's father remarried, and he was lovingly raised by Frank and Betty Ronchetti (Miller). He married Tammy L. Myers on January 27,2007 in Key West, FL. Bob is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Tammy Ronchetti of Mattoon, IL; five children, Drew Ronchetti and wife Tina of Littleton, CO, Seth Ronchetti and wife Christy of Forsyth, IL, Whitney Weber and significant other Dave Galindo of Fort Collins, CO, Jenny Turner and husband James of Charleston, IL, Brad Talbert and wife Jame of Mattoon, IL; eleven grandchildren, Callie and Jacob Ronchetti of Littleton, CO, Declan and Gianna Ronchetti of Forsyth, IL, Braden Weber of Fort Collins, CO, Gavin and Breelie Turner of Charleston, IL, Austin Talbert of Charleston, IL, Michael, Layna, and Niko Talbert of Mattoon, IL; one great-grandson, Jaxon Talbert of Charleston, IL; one sister, Marcia Ronchetti of Santa Rosa, CA; four brothers, Jim Ronchetti of Crescent Head, New South Wales, C. Richard Ronchetti and wife Carol of Dallas, TX, Scott Ronchetti and wife Janet of Mattoon, IL, Frank Ronchetti Jr. and wife Daniella of Denver, CO. He is preceded in death by one brother, Greg Ronchetti; and great-grandson, Koen Talbert.
Bob was a proud graduate of Mattoon High School Class of 1966. Bob attended the University of Louisville in Kentucky from 1966 until 1968, where he played football and ran track, later transferring to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL where he graduated with a degree in business in 1970.
In 1971, Bob went back home to Mattoon, IL to join the family business of Ronchetti Distributing Company which operated for three generations and 117 years. Bob served as the third-generation owner and proudly held that title for the last four decades before his retirement in 2023. Devoted to his craft, Bob lived by the words, "He had no sport. He had no hobby. His hobby was business. His business was the beer business. His beer was Anheuser Busch."
Known for his quiet generosity, Bob was a well-loved and respected figure within the community. He believed in giving back and supported many local causes, especially within sports and youth activities. He had a passion for children and enjoyed coaching and teaching them valuable life lessons.
Bob's efforts to give back to the community did not go unrecognized and he was honored to be the recipient of Mattoon Citizen of the Year in 2024. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard, was a board member of Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois (ABDI), board member for First National Bank, and booster for Mattoon High School, Lake Land University, and Eastern Illinois University.
He was a longtime member of Mattoon Golf and Country Club. For over fifty years, Bob treasured to his time on the course with his "Golf Boys." Unforgettable times were had when Bob was present.
Nothing made Bob happier than being surrounded by friends and family. His presence lit up the room and filled it with laughter. It was once said that Bob always had jokes and every once in a while they were funny.
Bob Ronchetti was one of the greatest. He leaves behind a legacy of being a hard worker, an amazing family man, friend to many, and always the life of the party.
