Roscoe Cougill Obituary
Roscoe M. "Dan" Cougill, retired US Air Force Brigadier General and former Mayor of Charleston, IL, age 83, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service and Military Rites to follow at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL.

I was saddened to hear of the Passing of former Mayor Dan Cougill
Send our Condolences and Prayers to Sally and Family .
I had the privilege to work with Dan over the years and he made Charleston proud due to his outstanding Leadership.
He was an outstanding Veteran and served his country very well as A career soldier rising to the Rank of Brigadier General.
Rest in peace my friend you made your Family , Town and nation proud

Our hearts are heavy from reading of the passing of Dan Cougill. We had so hoped and prayed that with his strong spirit, his faith, the love of his family, he would recover his vibrant, vigorous well-being. With sad reflection, Jeff said, `I don´t think I´ve ever met a nicer guy."
To his wonderful family, Sallie, Andy, Chris and their wives and Dan and Sallie´s grandchildren, we offer our sincere condolences. His family, Charleston, and the country really, have lost a good man, but never his memory. We hope tuba-playing is allowed and there are blessed woodlands to tend, just as Dan made places of happiness and contentment in his and Sallie´s life in Charleston. May he rest in peace.
