Stuart Closson

PHOENIX - Stuart Lee Closson, 71, of Phoenix, AZ passed away Sat., December 17, 2011. He was born in Mattoon, IL, the son of Lester Lee and Lucille Eastin Closson. He married Marilyn Born on August 24, 1968 in Las Vegas, NV. He graduated from Mattoon High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He retired from the Rainbow Baking Company after 30 years of driving semi transports. He was a long-time member of the Teamsters Union and American Legion. He was a life-long member of the Roy Rogers Rider Club and the Order of DeMolay. A few of his special interests were coaching Little League baseball, leading Boy Scouts, target shooting, backpacking, coin collecting, photography, cooking and collecting Roy Rogers memorabilia. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marilyn of Phoenix, his mother Lucille Closson and sister Janet (Robert) Webner of Bethany, IL, a son, Stuart "Riley" Closson of Phoenix, grandsons Ryan Closson of Kingman, AZ and Spc. Matthew Closson and great-granddaughter Leia of Fort Bragg, NC, grandaughter Nicole Fisher of Kingman, AZ, Aunts Norma Mineo and Elyn Pogliano of Charleston, IL, Uncles Harvey Eastin of Champaign and Dean (Marilyn) Eastin of Humboldt, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
