Doris Rogers Obituary
Doris June Rogers, a beacon of warmth and joy, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 89 in Wichita, Kansas. Born on May 3, 1936, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to the late Robert and Dee Henson, Doris's life was one of love, adventure, and steadfast faith.
Growing up in the heart of Arkansas, Doris was the cherished sister to Reba York and the late Inez Conley and Gail Wilson. Her early years were filled with the simple pleasures of Southern living, which laid the foundation for the gracious and kind-hearted woman she would become.
Doris's husband, Ralph Rogers, who predeceased her brought much joy to her life. Their love was a journey of companionship and shared interests. Together, they embraced the joy of the open road, buying a 5th wheeler camper upon Ralph's retirement. Doris and Ralph traveled the United States, creating an extended family of friends from all corners of the country. Every winter, they reunited with these friends in Wimauma, Florida, from December through April, forging bonds that transcended time and distance.
A dedicated member of TOPS in Paragould for over two decades, she took pride in her participation and the friendships she cultivated there. Her church family at Paragould Church of God held a special place in her heart. Doris's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished the fellowship and spiritual sustenance she found within her church community.
Doris's legacy continues through her loving family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and James Walton, and Teresa and Ronnie Tramel. Her role as a grandmother was one she held dear, showering Angie Kent (Brian), Chris Tramel, Ian Walton and Katie Tramel with affection and wisdom. Doris also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Lucie Kent, whom she adored.
Her life was marked by her unwavering kindness, her infectious laughter, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved. Doris's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the cherished memories she has left behind.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 22, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 :00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery at Blytheville.
