Jimmy Dale Wells, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the age of 71 at his home in Paragould. Born on January 17, 1954, in Paragould to the late Charles and Mildred Wells, he spent his life embodying the values of hard work, love, and joy.
Jimmy dedicated over 20 years of his life to the manufacturing industry as a machine operator at Monroe, where he was respected by his colleagues for his unwavering dedication and skilled craftsmanship. In the late 1970s, he married the love of his life, Jill Gramling. Their union was filled with joy and love until her passing in 2007. Jimmy continued to honor her memory throughout his life, embodying the strength and kindness that characterized their relationship.
A true enthusiast of life, Jimmy found immense joy in riding motorcycles, with each ride a testament to his adventurous spirit. He was also known as a horse whisperer, with an extraordinary ability to break and train horses, sharing countless rewarding moments on horseback. His passions extended to music, where he showcased his talent on the keyboard and guitar. With a heart that resonated with rock & roll tunes, he later found fulfillment in playing gospel music, all the while maintaining that he was not a singer-though those who heard him knew otherwise.
A faithful Christian, Jimmy lived his life grounded in his beliefs, sharing his warmth and kindness with everyone he met. He was a proud father to four daughters, Heather Rutherford of Lakeland, Florida, Haley Wells of Blytheville, Selena (Karl) Horton of Paragould, and Sarah (Andy) Runyan of Paragould, who carry on his legacy of love. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his loving bride of almost 30 years, Jill Wells; and his sisters, Sherry Johnson and Susan Gillette.
A Celebration of Life will be held in tribute to Jimmy's life, inviting family, friends, and all who knew him to gather and honor his memory. The ceremony will take place at a future date when the days more closely resemble motorcycle riding weather.
In this time of remembrance, we celebrate not just the life of Jimmy Dale Wells but also the profound impact he made on all our lives. His spirit of adventure, love for music, and unwavering dedication to family will remain forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Jimmy. Your legacy of love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know you.

I met Jim in 1982 when I joined a band with himself, Randy May, & Rick Fulkerson. Our friendship was instant. Over the years after moving away we stayed in touch. We considered ourselves brothers. His friendship was genuine and true. He will be truly missed by many who knew him. Myself included.
