Nancy Beatrice Simpson, a cherished soul of warmth and compassion, departed from this world on August 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 16, 1942, in the welcoming town of Holcomb, Missouri, Nancy's journey through life was marked by her nurturing spirit and creative flair. She passed away peacefully in Paragould, Arkansas, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and melodious memories.
In her early years, Nancy's artistic talents shone brightly as she embarked on a creative partnership with her musician husband. Together, they composed and recorded an album that echoed their shared love for music and harmony. Her involvement in the music industry extended to working backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, where she made numerous friends and contributed to the magic of countless performances.
Nancy's academic accomplishments were a testament to her dedication and intellect. As an honors graduate and a proud member of Phi Theta Kappa, she excelled in her studies to become a Registered Nurse, a profession through which she touched countless lives with her kindness and expert care. Her commitment to helping others was not just a career but a calling that she fulfilled with grace and professionalism. She faithfully cared for patients at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center as a nurse for 20 years.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Nancy was an avid lover of the outdoors. She found peace and pleasure in fishing, where the quiet patience of the sport was a perfect complement to her gentle nature. Gardening was another pastime she cherished, nurturing plants with the same care and attention she devoted to every living thing she encountered. Through these activities, she remained deeply connected to the natural world and its simple, profound beauties.
Above all, Nancy's heart belonged to her family. The love she held for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and each moment spent with them was treasured. Her guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love have left an indelible mark on their lives, shaping them in ways that will resonate through generations.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Stidham and Ruby Stidham-Hartsoe; her husband, Bill Simpson; and brothers, Johnny Hartsoe and Jim Hartsoe.
Survivors include her children, Billy F. Simpson, Lisa Ann Baxley, Tom Simpson, and Will G. Simpson, Jr.; siblings, Troy Stidham, Dewayne Hartsoe, Sharon Cook, Pat Coln, Peggy Harris, and Debbie Sharp; and numerous grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 14, from 1:00 pm. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The celebration of Nancy's life will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Chris Hodges officiating.
