Sarah June Pickney

Sarah June Pickney, 75 of Powhatan passed away on October 3, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 17, 1950, in Stanford to the late Jake Alvin and Berty Imogene Ivy Bryant. Sarah was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Pickney, on October 4, 1971. She was a homemaker, helped James with Carpentry work and worked as a custodian at the Black Rock School. Sarah was a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church in Black Rock. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Sue; and four brothers, Dennis, Delbert, and Danny Joe. Survivors include her husband, James Pickney of the home; one daughter, Janet (Christopher) Travis of Walnut Ridge; three grandsons, Weston, Aurbrey, and Ashton; two brothers, Don (Virginia) Bryant, and Jim (Ann) Bryant, both of Light; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside Service will be Monday, October 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock with Bro. Chad Burton officiating.
