Selena Jean Poynor

Selena Jean (Traywick) Poynor, 65, of Paragould, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025 at home with family. She attended Central Baptist in Paragould. She was a loving wife, mother, Granny, sister, niece, and a cousin to a large family and a dear friend to so many. Selena was born on July 15, 1960 in Cardwell, Mo to Billy Charles and the (late) Phyllis Jean Traywick. She graduated from Southland High School in 1978. She worked at Mr. T's Riverside for 23 years and at Greene County Tech School District for 12 years as the Intermediate Secretary until retiring in 2023. Selena coached softball and baseball when her children were younger. She was a Sunday School/Nursery teacher at Calvary Full Gospel in Cardwell, Mo for many many years. She impacted so many children's lives. While working at school she taught students how to sew and encouraged students to do their best and not give up. All the students loved Mrs. Selena. She is survived by her husband Larry Poynor, her three children and spouses and one step-daughter: Amanda (Shane) Mikel, Jeremy (Lauren) Cude, Garrett (Katie) Cude, and Lari Lyn Poynor. She was the Granny to her five precious grandchildren that were her world: Logan Mikel, Mason Cude, Emmie Kate Cude, Max Cude, and Suttyn Cude. She also leaves behind her father: Billy Charles Traywick; three sisters: Donna Rowland, Nancy Robinson, and Janet Hale; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Selena was preceded in death by her sweet mother: Phyllis (Marshall) Traywick and one grandchild. A short memorial service will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 5:30 p.m and a Celebration of her life will follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Paragould Church of God in the fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at the Cardwell Cemetery at a later date.
