Tate Townsend Obituary

Tate Eugene Townsend, 63, of Maynard passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born to Marion and Elizabeth Townsend on July 28, 1962 in Pocahontas AR. He was married to Sharron Townsend on July 2, 1983. He retired from Enable MidStream as team leader after 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with the grandchildren and scouting around in the woods He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Taylor Townsend, and sister, Shelia Mathew. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Townsend; two daughters, Elisha (Matt) Buckley of Maynard and Hannah (Justin) Cordevant of Pocahontas; six grandchildren, Bentley and Rafe Buckley, Gatlyn, Miya, and Journee Townsend, and Ava Cordevant; mother, Elizabeth Townsend of Maynard; sisters, Kathy (Greg) Johnson of Pocahontas, Debby (Wendell) Garvin of Warm Springs, Jackie (Jerry) Songer of Maynard, Vickie (Ken) Barbee of Poplar Bluff, and Sarah (Adam) Couch of Poplar Bluff. Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. A memorial will be held on Wednesday, September 10 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Buckley, Justin Cordevant, Cory Townsend, Brandon Byrd, Lonnie Cox, Tom Ed Buxton, David Hibbard, Wendell Garvin, and Timothy Byrd.
