PEA RIDGE - Barbara Joyce (Berry) Astle, of Pea Ridge, Ark., entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early hours on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025. She was 80 years old,
Born Dec. 17, 1944, in Luxora, to Robert E and Reida (Paschal) Berry. She graduated from Keiser High School and completed Business School in Osceola. Barbara had a passion for travel, whether by land, plane, or a cruise ship. She traveled all over the United States and many other countries. She and her husband, Spence Astle, owned a Bed and Breakfast, Apple Core Cottage, and a linen shop, Luxury Linens in Eureka Springs. They retired to Venice, Fla. She lived in several cities in Florida before moving to Pea Ridge.
Barbara joins those who preceded her in death, her husband, Spence (Butch) Astle; her parents; brothers, Robert Keith Berry and Paul Berry, and brothers-in-law, George Smith & Jimmy Jo McCain. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by the loved ones left to cherish her memory. Her daughter, Stephanie Jane Melvin; her beloved Jon (Jack) Sampson, Sr. both of the home and four sisters, Teresa Berry Newman (Gene), Garfield, Ark., Margaret Berry Raymond (Tom), Summerfield, Fla., Regina Berry McCain, Keiser, Ark., Karen Berry Peske (Tim), Benton, Ark.; grandsons, Blaine Basquez and Bailey Basquez; three great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy, Jaxon, Luci, and Lili; and Aunt Ruth Austin Paschal. She will be missed by many other family members and friends who loved her so much.
Per Barbara's request, there will be no services. However, there will be a celebration of life in her honor at a later date. Her final resting place will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla., beside her husband, Spence (Butch) Astle.
