JONESBORO - Mrs. Bobbie Timmermann, 87, of Jonesboro, lovingly known as "Mrs. T," passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 87. A beloved teacher, mentor, coach, and friend, she devoted 58 years of her life to Nettleton High School, where she became a cherished and lasting presence in the lives of generations of students.
Born in Anderson, Texas, Bobbie knew from a young age she was meant to teach, often "playing school" with her siblings. Her early passion for education led her to earn degrees in Business Education from Arkansas State University, where she also later earned her master's.
Bobbie's journey included stops in several states as she supported her husband, Dan, through his military service and academic career. Together they raised two children, Valerie and Larry. In 1968, Bobbie began teaching business at Nettleton High School, launching a career that would impact countless students through FBLA, mentoring programs, and competitive events.
Known for her humor, creativity, and deep care for students, Mrs. T's classroom quickly became a second home for many. She later became the founding coach of Nettleton's bowling team, leading them to three state championships. Her dedication earned her recognition statewide, and in 2020, Arkansas State University created the Bobbie Timmermann FBLA Scholarship in her honor.
Bobbie was also a devoted member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Jonesboro, where she found joy in faith and fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dan Timmermann. She is survived by her children Valerie Beckelhimer (Paul) and Larry Timmermann (Linda); 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m., also at Emerson. In honor of Mrs. T's love for Nettleton, guests are invited to wear Nettleton Raider apparel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bobbie Timmermann FBLA/PBL Scholarship at Arkansas State University, P.O. Box 1990, State University, Ark., 72467 or call 870-972-3940 for options.
Mrs. T's legacy lives on through every life she touched, a true example of what it means to teach with heart.
