Catherine Shempert Obituary
BONO - Catherine Virginia Shempert, 85, of Bono passed from this life Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Alicia.
She lived all of her life in the Nettleton and Westside areas. She was a 1955 Nettleton honor graduate and an outstanding basketball player.
Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia "Patty" Shempert, her husband, BJ Shempert, parents, John and Mary Banter, and brothers, Vert and Roger Banter.
She is survived by a son, Jay (Pam) Shempert, daughter, Susan (Randy) Davis, sister, Janna Seats, grandsons, Adam and Ryan Shempert and Bradley and Tyler Davis, as well as three great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held Tuesday in Herman Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
