MONETTE - George Edd Holland, 77, passed on from this life on Feb. 25, 2025, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Mr. Holland was born on Jan. 10,1948, to the late George Ray and Edna Bertrix Holland.
He spent forty-four years as an educator teaching science before becoming the high school principal then moving on to being superintendent of Monette High School which then changed to Buffalo Island Central. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Holland enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a fierce protector of his family and loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Joy Holland and brother, Timothy Holland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Holland; his daughters, Nichole (Jason) Brewer of Jonesboro and Brooke (Justin) Patterson of Lepanto; brother, Michael (Lisa) Holland of Annieville; his sister, Kathy Baldridge of Lake City; grandchildren, Jackson and Sydney Brewer of Jonesboro, Edith and Elam Patterson of Lepanto.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jason Brewer, Justin Patterson, Jackson Brewer, Elam Patterson, Cole Hawkins, Luke Cooper and Eli Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Monette Class of 1965, Lynn Smith, Red Hot Cullum, Bobby Shirley, Allen Smith, Kevin Baldridge, Aaron Baldridge, Kyle Jaques, Raymond Keller, and John Cooper
Visitation will be held at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette at 11 a.m. on Friday Feb. 28, with funeral services to follow starting at 12 p.m. with Brother Eddie Dunigan officiating. The burial will be in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
