JONESBORO – Jerry Loyd, 85, of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born May 30, 1936, in Corning to the late Earl and Edna Loyd.
Jerry was a member of The Rock Church. He was in a gospel group, the Singing Steps when he lived in Aurora, Ill.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, tinkering with things and being a prankster. He loved being a bus driver, driving the kids around.
Jerry was a pastor for Stonewall Church for over 26 years. Most of all he loved being around people and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Loyd Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Naomi Loyd of the home; two sons, Randy (Lynne Woods) Loyd of Jonesboro and Kevin (Rena) Loyd of Paragould; a daughter, Terry (James) Cook of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Jason (Deborah) Cook, Brandi Martin, Stephanie Cook and Justin Loyd, all of Jonesboro, and Jordan Loyd of Brookland; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services were Friday at Emerson Funeral Home with Brother Terry Watson and Brother Jeff Watson officiating. Burial followed in McDaniel Cemetery.
